Even though 1-speed shifters & derailleurs are probably one of the coolest things that have conquered the bike market in recent years and you wouldn’t want to do without them, there are still moments now and then when they are a bit vulnerable. When the ride gets wet and dirty, they occasionally annoy the odd rider with shifting problems and just won’t shift cleanly onto the small sprockets, for example.
BikeYoke has taken care of this problem and found out that various influences such as water, sand and dirt can contaminate the small shift cable guide on the rear derailleur, so that it jams and simply does not turn anymore. Dirt and sand will also cause the small plastic roller to wear more quickly and these particles will then be deposited between the fixing screw and the guide roller, which will also reduce the clean running of the roller.
And that’s exactly why BikeYoke launched Shifty. Shifty is simply installed instead of the original plastic shift cable guide roller on the rear derailleur. The aluminium roller in combination with the sealed stainless steel bearing ensures that the shift cable runs freely even under adverse conditions.
