The SL-M3100 Shifter from the Shimano Alivio Series for 3×9-Speed Shifters & Derailleurs
The Alivio SL-M3100 shifter by Shimano for mountain bikes with 3×9-speed drivetrains scores with good accessibility and easy operation. As a Rapidfire Plus model, it also impresses with its fast gear changes, with up to three steps being shifted at once at the rear. A visual gear indicator helps you find the right ratio. The shifter is attached to the left or right side of the handlebars by means of a clamp and has a shift cable adjuster. The housing is made of aluminium, the levers are made of a steel-synthetic resin mixture. An inner cable with friction-reducing coating is included.

Rapidfire Plus is a type of Shimano shift lever construction that has been common in the mountain bike sector since 1985. Two levers, the main lever and the release lever, are used instead of a twist shifter. Rapidfire Plus shift levers, as the name suggests, ensure fast shifting. In addition, depending on the model, it is possible to downshift up to three gears with one shift stroke.
