The Dura-Ace STI ST-R9100 Shift/Brake Lever by Shimano – Improved shifting
Thanks to proven STI technology, the Shimano Dura-Ace ST-R9100 shift/brake lever offers both a braking and a shifting function (2-speed, 11-speed), whereby the latter has been improved compared to the predecessor model. You can now shift faster in the rear, and a little easier at the front. The SLR-EV system continues to ensure the best braking power dosage. Ergonomics were not neglected in the update either – the ST-R9100 can be gripped and operated comfortably and of course the reach can be adjusted. Both the body and the brake lever are made of carbon. The quadruple bearing and the included polymer shift cable also identify the ST-R9100 Dual Control lever as a Shimano premium product.

Shimano Total Integration (STI) means the combination of braking and shifting functions in one lever, which increases safety when riding. By refining the technology, it became possible to make shifting so smooth at the front and rear that they can be triggered with just one finger. Shimano calls such levers Dual Control Levers (DCL).
