The Metrea shift/brake lever ST-U5060 by Shimano – optimum shifting and braking in the city
The Shimano Metrea ST-U5060 shift/brake lever offers smooth, easy shifting without noise development (Dual Control technology) and thanks to Shimano Total Integration, it also offers a precisely dosed braking function. It is designed for city bikes with 2×11-speed gears and hydraulic disc brakes and helps you to get safely through city traffic. Servo Wave ensures that the applied force results in consistent and smooth braking. Two shift cables with friction-reducing Optislick coating are included. The right STI (ST-U5060-R) can also be used in combination with the left BL-U5010-L brake lever if you ride the Metrea 1×11-speed and therefore only need a shift/brake lever on the right.

Shimano Total Integration (STI) means the combination of braking and shifting functions in one lever, which increases safety when riding. By refining the technology, it became possible to make shifting so smooth at the front and rear that they can be triggered with just one finger. Shimano calls such levers Dual Control Levers (DCL).

Servo Wave
Shimano Servo Wave technology optimises the travel of your brake levers. During the braking process, the brake pads are guided quickly to the brake rotor with very short lever travel. The greater part of the lever travel is reserved for the actual braking force. In this way, you can apply your braking power in a more targeted manner and use it more effectively.
