The Shimano Ultegra ST-R8000 Shift/Brake Levers – Intuitive shifting and even more comfortable braking
With the Shimano Ultegra ST-R8000 shift/brake lever set, you can shift gears quickly and intuitively (2×11-speed) thanks to STI Dual Control technology, but you can also brake well in the SLR-EV system with rim brakes. The grip width adjustment is more generous than on previous Ultegra models, making it more comfortable to use. An update of the internals led to even more precise shifts, which are noticeably smoother, especially at the front. The Ultegra ST-R8000 have a high carbon content and come with high-quality polymer shift cables.

Shimano Total Integration (STI) means the combination of braking and shifting functions in one lever, which increases safety when riding. By refining the technology, it became possible to make shifting so smooth at the front and rear that they can be triggered with just one finger. Shimano calls such levers Dual Control Levers (DCL).
