The XT rear derailleur RD-M786 by Shimano – quiet and safe shifts
The Shimano XT rear derailleur RD-M786 ensures precise, low-noise shifting in 2×10-speed and 3×10-speed drivetrains (Dyna-Sys). It features Shadow RD+ technology, where a stabiliser prevents the chain from sagging, slapping or dropping. Both the outer and inner cages of the rear derailleur are made of lightweight aluminium.

Dyna-Sys is the name of the 10-speed shifting system for MTBs from Shimano. It works with closer gear ratios that enable smooth and efficient shifting. Optimised gear combinations maximise propulsion and extend the life of the cassette, chain and chainring.

Shadow RD+
Shadow Plus rear derailleurs are just as low-profile as Shimano’s Shadow rear derailleurs. In addition, a stabilizer with on/off switch is used to reduce chain slap and thus counteract chain drop. At the same time, this results in a quieter drive. Weight is also saved compared to other chain restraint devices.
